UVC is not absolutely needed for humidifiers.
But there should be made sure, that in the case of no germ-removal-system
the cleaning has to be made more accurat and interval for cleaning
has to made all 2-4 weeks (instead of 4 - 8 weeks with germ-removal).
If used no UVC there should be filled a desinfect
- but desinfect always has the disadvantage that it smells like in a hospital... then, this method has to be rejected if you use the humidifier for keeping the cigars because they will suffer under that fragrance.
Once a week the waterbucket has to be emptied (in both cases, with or without UVC).
